Local McDonalds All-Americans

First off, congrats to Vancouver's Ashley Corral from Prairie High School for being named a McDonalds All American. By making the final cut, Ashley made the 2008 West Team roster.


A handful of Pacific Northwest basketball players were nominated for the McDonalds All-American team. Congrats to the nominees. Here's the list:


For the boys, Jake Anderson, Burlington-Edison. Brady Bomber, Lynden. Jordan Hamilton and Jack Hanley, Seattle Prep. Mike Ladd, Rainier Beach. Mike McLaughlin, Inglemoor. Kavario Middleton, Lakes. Alfie Miller, Rainier.


For the girls, Candace Chambers, Seattle Prep. Katie Grad, Auburn-Riverside. Sara Halasz, Lakes. Eran Jones, Meadowdale. Amanda Paige Juarez, Lake Washington. Kristi Kingma, Jackson. Mary Ochiltree, Lake Stevens.

Since 1977, McDonald’s All American® athletes include NBA greats Alonzo Mourning (Miami Heat), Magic Johnson (retired), Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics), LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets), as well as WNBA star Seimone Augustus (Minnesota Lynx) and women’s NCAA stars Tina Charles (Connecticut), Maya Moore (Connecticut) and Candace Parker (Tennessee).
