Notes from the WIAA Board April meeting

The WIAA Executive Board held its April meeting last night and voted to approve the following state championship sites:

1) The 2009 3A State Basketball Championships will move to the Tacoma Dome and remain on the third week of state basketball tournaments.
2) The 2009 2A State Basketball Championships will move to the Yakima SunDome and remain on the third week of state basketball tournaments.
3) The 2009 State Cheerleading Championships will follow the 2009 Salute to Spirit event at the Comcast Arena at the Everett Events Center on Saturday, January 24, 2009.
4) The 2008 State Cross Country Championships will be held in Pasco.
5) The 2009 State Track & Field Championships will be held at two sites, Eastern Washington University (1B, 2B, 1A) in Cheney and Mt. Tahoma High School (2A, 3A, 4A) in Tacoma and will follow a three-day rotating schedule, similar to the State Volleyball Championships.
