Mountlake Terrace grad signs with Royals

Just a few days after Jake Theis graduated from Mountlake Terrace, the 6'6" pitcher signed a deal with the Kansas City Royals. Now he's off to play in the rookie league for the Arizona Royals, according to the Everett Herald. Theis signed a deal that covers four years of college and a signing bonus. Here's what Theis told the HeraldNet:

"Now I'm employed. I've kind of got my first job...It's been a dream ever since I was little to play professional ball. It's still kind of sinking in."

Theis was a 2008 All-Wesco South first-team honoree.
