Skyline football in national polls
After Skyline's (4-0) commanding 49-0 victory over Newport, you'd think the football program would cement it's ranking in national polls. Not so fast, my padawan learner. Sure, the Spartans beat Sheldon 21-0, Ballard 56-6 and Lake Washington 55-0. Was that enough to raise Skyline in the national spotlight? Let's take a look.
Over at ESPN.com Skyline went up from 20th to 19th. Okay, that's worth shaking a stick at. But at Rivals.com they stayed at 22nd. And at MaxPreps.com, the team fell three to 11. (In all fairness, MaxPreps poll doesn't include the Newport game -- and who can honestly dis being ranked 11th in the nation?)
Which team is numero uno? Depends who you ask. Texas' Trinity tops the list for ESPN and Rivals, but MaxPreps puts Poly from CA at the top of the heap.
