Bellevue player added to national U-17 soccer lineup

This is a great story and a great tip of the hat for a local soccer player. Bellevue High School junior Kate Bennett made the national under-17 roster for the first ever Under-17 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off Tuesday in New Zealand. The World Cup goes from Oct. 28-Nov. 16th. The tournament is also the first world championship for girls at the under-17 level. In total, 16 nations are competing. The U.S. team is in Group C with Japan, France and Paraguay. The 5'4" Bennett leaves this Thursday. You can read more about the contest at the Official Site of US Soccer.
